I'm Michele Powers. I’m semi-retired, working here two days a week to help answer your questions and keep things running smoothly here at Union School. Please feel free to stop by the office and say hello.

 

I've been working at Union School since 2011. Before my time here, I spent many years in education, teaching in Vernon and Tolland. Teaching social studies was my favorite. I love history, and love reading historical books and watching historic documentaries.

 

I live in Tolland with my best buddy, Willie, a Blue Heeler (like Bluey). I also live with my husband, Scott, who is retired after working many years as a journalist at the Hartford Courant and ESPN.

 

We have two beautiful daughters. Jane and her husband, Matt, live in Burlington, VT. Victoria lives in New York City. It’s always a lot of fun visiting them. There are so many fun and interesting things to do in Burlington and New York City.

 

I grew up in Ohio --I have never seen my teams the Browns and Guardians win a Super Bowl or World Series. I’m hoping that will happen someday. My biggest joys are working in my flower gardens or kitchen. I love cooking trying new recipes and eating a plant-based diet. I also love to work out by lifting weights and taking barre classes. Scott and I love to travel and hope to see many more places in the future.
